EAC Certification for Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan of heavy industry products
EAC Certification for heavy industry products – last update 15.04.2016
Belonging to this category are a wide range of products. Hence the sector is governed by several technical regulations. Conformity EAC certifications takes the form of various types of documents depending on the specific object of the certification.
Most of machinery and industrial equipment, is to be compulsorily certified before being sold in Russia and in the EAC Customs Union, they are generally subjected to EAC declaration regime. Generally, such a declaration is issued according to three technical regulations:
TR CU 004/2011 on the safety of low voltage equipment;
TR CU 010/2011 on the safety of machinery and equipment;
TR CU 020/2011 on electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices;
In many case a EAC certificate is to be attained instead of a Declaration EAC. In particular for devices or other equipment running in explosive atmospheres, to which a certificate EX EAC for explosion proofing is to be awarded. The EX EAC certification is very similar to the European ATEX certificate but can not be replaced by the latter.
A certificate EAC is for equipment under pressure, which are to be certified according to the TR CU 032/2013 on the safety of pressure equipment (in this case requirements were redacted along the lines of the European PED).
The Gost R and EAC certification of hydraulic elements, such as pipes, flanges and valves, is varied. Pipes, flanges and fittings are generally not subject to mandatory certification, unless the combination of pressure, diameter and carried fluid makes them fall within the parameters listed in the legislation TR CU 032/2013 on the safety of pressure equipment. In many cases, however, no certification is legally required. This does not mean attaining a certificate is not recommended, it may in fact be essential for participating in international tenders or to make the product desirable when the positioned on store shelves, thank to the presence of the voluntary Gost R mark of conformity.
Low voltage switchboards and control panels marketed in Russia and in the EAC area, are subject to EAC certificate according to the technical regulations to follow:
TR CU 004/2011 on the safety of low voltage equipment;
TR CU 020/2011 on electromagnetic compatibility of technical devices;
Industrial equipment gaseous fuel propelled (including for example professional kitchen elements) are to be certified according to the TR CU 016/2011 on the safety of machines operating on gaseous fuel, as well as in accordance with the regulations listed before. The document attained in this case may be either a certificate EAC or a declaration EAC.
Measuring instruments for legal metrology need to attain a certificate Gost R pattern of approval for legal metrology, even if they are already certified according to harmonized OIML regulations.
